A newsletter is the most reliable way to bring visitors back to your WordPress site. You own the list, and you don’t depend on a social network’s algorithm to reach your readers. This guide shows you how to add a newsletter sign-up form to WordPress and send to your whole list, free and with no subscriber limits, using Enchant Newsletters.
Most newsletter tools start out cheap, then get expensive as your list grows. Pricing is tied to subscriber counts, so a successful newsletter means a bigger bill every month. Many WordPress newsletter plugins also send email from your own web host. That risks poor deliverability and can get your hosting account flagged.
Enchant works differently. Newsletters are free with unlimited subscribers, and there are no per-email fees. Enchant handles the technical email setup (SPF, DKIM & DMARC) to help your newsletters reach the inbox. Subscribers confirm their address by entering a one-time code, which keeps your list healthy and your spam complaints low.
You don’t need a plugin or any coding. You’ll create your newsletter in Enchant, add the sign-up form to your WordPress site, and send your first issue. Everything below works with any WordPress theme.
What you’ll need
- A WordPress site where you can edit pages or widgets. You need administrator access to the site.
- A free Enchant account. You’ll create one in Step 1. No credit card is required.
- A few minutes. Setup is quick, and you can send your first newsletter right after.
Step 1: Create your free Enchant account
Head over to Enchant and start your quick setup. During the initial wizard, select Yes for Enable Newsletter so your workspace activates with unlimited newsletter capabilities right out of the box.

The next section of the wizard is Install on Your Website. Select Yes for Install on Website so Enchant generates an embed code you can add to WordPress. In Allowed Hosts, enter your WordPress site’s domain, for example *.mysite.com. Wildcards are allowed, and Enchant only runs on the host you enter here. Then click Continue.

On the next screen, Your Messenger is Ready, Enchant shows your Embed Code. Click the copy button beside it. You’ll paste this code into WordPress in Step 2.

Want to try it before touching WordPress? The same screen has a Link in bio URL. Your Messenger site is already live at that address, so you can open it in a browser to see how it looks and test it right away. You can also share that link in your email signature or social profiles, or use the QR code.
Step 2: Add the sign-up form to WordPress
Paste the embed code you copied in Step 1 into your WordPress site. It can go anywhere in the <head> or <body> of your pages. The simplest way to do this without editing theme files is with a header and footer scripts plugin.
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin, then search for and install a plugin that inserts scripts into your site header or footer, such as WPCode. Activate it.
- Open the plugin’s header and footer settings and paste the embed code into the Header or Footer box.
- Click Save.
- Visit your site and reload the page to confirm the code is loading.
Step 3: Test your sign-up form
Subscribe to your own newsletter to make sure everything works. Use an email address you can check, and test the way a visitor would.
- Open your WordPress site in a private or incognito browser window, so you see what visitors see. If you’d rather not use WordPress yet, open your Link in bio URL from Step 1 instead.
- Find the Enchant sign-up form and subscribe with your email address.
- Check your inbox for the email containing a one-time code, then enter that code in the sign-up form to confirm. You aren’t on the list until the code is verified. If you don’t see the email within a few minutes, check your spam folder.
- In Enchant, go to Campaigns > Newsletters and open your newsletter. Verify that you’re listed as an active subscriber.
If the form doesn’t appear on your WordPress site, confirm that you saved the embed code in Step 2, clear any caching plugin, and check that Allowed Hosts in Enchant matches your site’s domain.
Step 4: Send your first newsletter
Once your subscriber list is working, you’re ready to send. In Enchant, you send a newsletter as a campaign.
- In Enchant, go to the Campaigns tab and click New Campaign.
- Enter a Name for the campaign. This is for your own reference and subscribers won’t see it.
- In Newsletter, choose the subscriber list to send to.
- Under When to send, choose Immediately on ready or Schedule for later.
- Write your Subject and Body. The editor supports bold, italics, links, lists and quotes.
- Click Save to keep your draft, then click Send when you’re ready.

Nothing goes out until you click Send, so you can keep editing and saving as long as you like. You can send one newsletter every 5 days to all of your subscribers.
Next: Customize your newsletter
You can customize your newsletter from two places in Enchant.
- Newsletter details and emails: Go to Campaigns > Newsletter and open your newsletter. Here you can see its details, such as the number of subscribers and how many are active, and customize emails like the welcome and win-back emails.
- Sign-up form and Messenger look: Go to Settings > Messenger, open your Messenger, and select Home Page. Here you can configure the newsletter sign-up form, change the Messenger’s color, and more.
Frequently asked questions
Is the newsletter really free?
Yes. Enchant Newsletters are free, with no credit card required. There are no per-email fees and no charges for sending campaigns.
Is there a limit on subscribers or emails?
There’s no limit on subscribers, and no per-email fees. You can send one newsletter every 5 days to all of your subscribers, however large your list grows. Your bill doesn’t grow as your list does.
Do I need a WordPress plugin to run the newsletter?
No newsletter plugin is needed. The sign-up form and sending both run from Enchant. In Step 2, you only use a header and footer scripts plugin to paste in the embed code. If your theme lets you add scripts directly, you can skip the plugin.
Will this work with my WordPress theme?
Yes. The embed code works with any WordPress theme.
Can I schedule a newsletter to send later?
Yes. When you create a campaign, choose Schedule for later under When to send. You can also send it right away.
Can I use Enchant without WordPress?
Yes. The Link in bio page from Step 1 has its own sign-up form, so you can collect subscribers without a website. You can share it in your email signature or social profiles.
